〜までもない — Meaning & Examples

"No need to even..." Classic set phrase: 言うまでもない = needless to say / goes without saying.

〜までもない — "No Need to Even..."

までもない says an action isn't even necessary — the outcome is already obvious or the effort would be redundant.

Pattern: [verb dictionary form] + までもない

わざわざ言うまでもないが、健康第一だ。
= Needless to say, health comes first.

確認するまでもなく、彼は正しい。
= Without even needing to check, he's right.

この程度の傷なら、病院に行くまでもない。
= For a wound this minor, there's no need to even go to the hospital.

The classic set phrase: 言うまでもない = "needless to say / it goes without saying" — one of the most common N1 phrases in essays and speeches.
