~てくれる — Meaning & Examples
Someone does a favour for me. Extremely common in daily Japanese.
Doing Favours — てあげる / てくれる / てもらう
Combined with て-form to express doing favours:
~てあげる — I do something for someone:
ともだちにおしえてあげました。 — I taught my friend.
~てくれる — Someone does something for me:
ともだちがてつだってくれた。 — My friend helped me.
~てもらう — I get someone to do something:
いしゃにみてもらいました。 — I had the doctor look at me.
てくれる is extremely common — Japanese use it constantly: まってくれてありがとう (Thanks for waiting).
